What If #4 "Expectations" w/Bobby & Jamie Mathieu/Elwood Jones
What if we decreased expectation in other's to make us feel well and increase expectations in ourselves? 1. We have an expectation our kids would do the right thing 2. We have an expectation of our significant others 3. We have expectations of our family members 4. We have expectations of the government, elected officials, and president 5. We have expectations of church leadership and pastors and when our expectations haven’t met then we really got a problem 6. We have a expectation that people are going to do what they say they will do We will discover that directing your expectation in the one who can't fail you will decrease current heart aches and future regrets.

This message can help you appreciate your own existence because of a father and this message can help you discover a path forward to free but understanding the 5 levels of dads. 5 Levels of Dad 1. Abusive Fathers (Basement level 1 Dad) This dad is abusive physically, emotionally and verbally. This dad is not safe and can be extremely dangerous. 2. Absentee Fathers (Level 2 Dad) Can be known as a fly by night dad or “Poppa was a rolling Stone”. They can make promises they don’t keep. They at some points have tapped out and are avoiders and not consistent. An Absent dad can be intentionally absent or unintentionally absent due to various circumstances. It can feel like this dad has abandon you. Sometimes appear to be more interested in other kids other than you. 3. Average Fathers (Can appear to be withdrawn and disengaged) Level 3 This dad’s bottom line is to make sure you’re provided for. This dad puts food on the table, clothes on your back and a roof over your head. This dad can be at home but uninterested, unaware, and aloft from engaging at times. Then sometimes he’s right on point. This dad sometimes is affirming and other times just busy with other things to do. The average dad is a good dad but life may have caused him for numerous reasons to put other things in front of his kids. 4. Advancing Father (Level 4 Dad) They’ve accepted the challenge and have been extremely consistent in the life of their kids to a fault. Some would call an advancing dad the all-American dad. This dad is supported on multiple levels and shows at home, at games, cheer leading competition, dance recitals and goes the extra mile. This dad put you before himself. This dad can also be an enabler if not careful but wants the best for his kids and will do anything to get them to their best life. 5. Absolute Father (Above All/Ultimate Level 5 Dad) There is no other dad like this dad because this dad is the apex of all dads. This dad will never abandon you. This dad would never abuse you. It’s impossible for this dad to be absent because He’s there all the time. This dad shows up at all the events and this dad is there when you sleep this dad goes above and beyond. This dad is not relegated by gender. This dad is God himself who has both the attributes of both mother and father.
